Laytonsville Lions Club

Becoming a Member

The Laytonsville Lions Club is always looking for individuals to join our club that want to make a difference in the community.  The Lions Club has around 80 members. The key prerequisites to becoming a member are your desire and commitment to get involved in the community.

The Club's general membership gathers twice a month on Thursdays for dinner meetings at local churches in the area. The dinners typically run from 7 - 9pm and feature home cooked meals prepared by the host church. Most meetings include excellent guest speakers and reports on club activities.

We like to have a good time at our dinner meetings. For example our annual "Steak -or- Beans" dinner recognizes the top fund raising team within the club. Nobody knows what they're getting for dinner until the Steak or the Beans arrive on the plate in front of them.

In addition to the dinner meetings, members are expected to participate in club activities on a periodic basis. Activities include community events, community services, fundraisers and member only activities. These activities typically consume a few hours every other month. The membership only events include our annual picnic, a Christmas breakfast and a Valentines Day evening out. ( Please note that our club meetings and membership only events are funded directly by the general membership - not from fund raisers or donations from the community.)
