Each August, we raffle off something generally large and useful. Many past years, we've raffled a full sized riding lawn tractor and a self-propelled lawn mower. One past winner, a teenager from Olney, went into the lawn mowing business the next summer and made out very well! In 2002, the Laytonsville Lions Club teamed up with Gaithersburg High School and Gaithersburg Ford/Kubota for our summer raffle at the Montgomery County Fair. The 2002 raffle featured a Kubota T1570 Lawn Tractor as the grand prize and a leaf blower as the runner up prize. With your support, we raised proceeds of just over $3,000 for our community activities. Look for the Laytonsville Lions at the Montgomery County fair in 2004.
